The
CLPA Ambulatory Psychiatric Center has been opened in 2012 and is the first autonomous day care center dedicated to mental healthcare created by a private operator in France. Based on this experience, 6 new sites have been created since 2018 by Inicea and some other operators have created similar centers on the same model.
This kind of structure renews the way patients are treated in the French system because: compared to existing offer, the infrastructure is quite "light" : 500 to 1000 sqm that enable grouped and individual care (about 4 to 6 rooms dedicated to groups, 5 to 7 consultant spaces). The patients that stay the full day can take a lunch on site, which is part of the therapeutic approach.
As a consequence, INICEA can install this structure in the very center of the cities, accessible by public transportation and located in residential or shopping areas. This participates to destigmatization and psychosocial recovery of patients. The French mental health group gathers on a same site many competences to offer the most appropriate care to each patients. Each site is coordinated by a polyvalent team of psychiatrist, psychologist and nurses. They are assisted by liberal therapeutist to provide specific individual or grouped cares. On some sites, they are testing new technology like rTMS (repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) or combined approaches (care on site and digital follow up).
By this specific organization we give access to many patients to a high level of expertise with a short delay of waiting (between 3 to 6 weeks). In the CLPA, we took care of 400 patients in 2019, most of them addressed by general practisioners or liberal psychiatrist. Our Center allowed these patients to avoid a full time hospitalisation period. Our Centers are also perfectly adapted to take in charge new pathologies like burnout, obsessive-compulsive disorders, eating disorders,…
