Gérond'if : innovating in age care
Gérond'if is a non-profit organization, whose main objective is to federate all actors of the geriatrics and gerontology field, of the Ile-de-France region.
Located in the heart of Paris, the Gérond'if network brings together experts of the age care field. Their focus is on clinical research and evaluation of preventive actions.
Gérond'if is a non-profit organization, whose main objective is to bring together all actors of the geriatrics and gerontology field, of the Ile-de-France region. The association was created in 2016 by the main federations and institutions of the geriatrics' field, such as the Greater Paris Hospitals AP-HP, the public university hospital system of Paris and its suburbs and the largest in Europe.
Gérond'if is supported by the regional authorities and has been granted the label « Domain of Major Interest » This label is given by the region to organizations working in an emerging sector in which research and innovation must be supported.
The main activity of Gérond'if is clinical research and evaluation of preventive actions, in the geriatrics field. To fulfill its mission, Gérond'if brings together healthcare providers, public health stakeholders, caregivers, researchers, and all other players on the health scene.

Gérond'if is always looking for partnerships that will allow us to widen our knowledge and innovate in the geriatrics field. We are also very interested in new technologies because of their importance in our society and the help they can provide to the professionals in the field.
French innovation in action
Gérond'if has a wide variety of research subjects such as :
- Social robotics,
- Cohorts for the identification of frailty in the elderly,
- Organizational research in nursing homes (the impact of having a nurse in the night shift),
- Prevention programs (the creation as well as the evaluation), with physical activity and/or nutritional,
- « Social science », with a research aiming to identify the needs of hospital and nursing home's staff regarding the private life (and sexuality) of institutionalized seniors.
They are also currently working in :
- Developing a Formation / training branch to meet the healthcare professionals' needs
- Producing tools to raise awareness in the public.
